As PA Revenue Secretary, Tom Wolf was a car wreck!
Here are five things every PA voter should know about Tom Wolf’s record as Pennsylvania’s top tax collector:
- Tom Wolf was a disaster when he worked in Harrisburg as Pennsylvania’s Revenue Secretary...the state’s top tax collector. Wolf, a millionaire, fought for dramatic tax increases on hardworking Pennsylvanians. This included raising taxes on trash, home heating, and even the state sales tax.
- On Wolf’s watch as PA’s Revenue Secretary, taxes were high, and it killed critical Pennsylvania jobs. Wolf’s tax policies were so harmful to Pennsylvania small businesses, that during Wolf’s time in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania lost 152,000 jobs and the state unemployment rate went up almost 50%.
- When Wolf was PA Revenue Secretary, he criticized businesses that moved their headquarters to Delaware to get away from paying Pennsylvania’s high taxes. Not only did Wolf move his company’s headquarters to Delaware to keep from paying the same taxes he forced PA small businesses to pay, Wolf still keeps his company’s headquarters in Delaware today.
- When Tom Wolf was PA Revenue Secretary, the tax burden on Pennsylvania families was the highest in our states history.
- Tom Wolf’s projections as PA Revenue Secretary were so far off, one newspaper called him a “failure.” Eventually the state had to set up a new bureaucratic group to check all of Wolf’s work. This cost the taxpayers millions of dollars.
