There is an old axiom that politics is the art of the possible. Bipartisan leadership in the Pennsylvania General Assembly and from Gov. Tom Corbett in approving a new five-year transportation investment law is the latest example of what can be done when elected leaders come together in the spirit of compromise to work in the best interests of the public. It’s a message that shouldn’t be lost on politicians in the nation’s capital.
502 signaturesPennsylvania Democrats have introduced legislation (SB1100) that calls for a moratorium on Marcellus Shale drilling. This legislation attacks Pennsylvania's growing natural gas industry, and threatens to kill the thousands of family-sustaining jobs that the industry has created.
This harmful legislation is just another piece of our opponents' anti-energy agenda, which also includes extreme proposals to raise taxes, increase regulations or just ban further natural gas production.
