The Department of Community and Economic Development Secretary, C. Alan Walker, announced Wednesday a $2.8 million PennWorks grant to the Howe Township Municipal Authority for infrastructure improvements. In an effort to continue to advance Governor Tom Corbett's JOBS1st PA initiative, the award is expected to create at least 250 new jobs.
6.4% Unemployment Rate Below National Average; Lowest Since Nov. 2008
HARRISBURG, PA – Corbett-Cawley Campaign Manager Mike Barley released the following statement on January’s jobs report where unemployment dropped to 6.4%, the lowest level since November 2008 and below the national rate of 6.7%:
