STATEMENT FROM CORBETT-CAWLEY CAMPAIGN REGARDING TREASURY LOAN
HARRISBURG, PA – The Corbett-Cawley campaign today released the following statement regarding Secretary Tom Wolf’s quick criticism of a line of credit loan secured by Governor Tom Corbett from the treasury to cover operating expenses at a time of the year when revenue intake is typically slow.
REALIZING THE ABSURDITY OF HIS ‘FRESH START’ PROMISES, SECRETARY TOM WOLF NONCHALANTLY DOUBLES SEVERANCE TAX REVENUE ESTIMATES
HARRISBURG, PA – The Corbett-Cawley campaign today drew attention to Secretary Tom Wolf’s latest campaign commercial gaffe where he doubles the amount of revenue that would be generated from his proposal for a special tax on Pennsylvania’s natural gas industry. In a campaign commercial during the liberal Democratic primary, Wolf said his special tax would raise taxes by $550 million. He is now running the exact same ad, but now stating his special tax would raise taxes by $1 billion. His ad also says that Pennsylvania does not have a severance tax, which is exactly the opposite of what he said last week during an interview with Fox 43 News in Harrisburg.

“Millionaire Secretary Tom Wolf continues to run false attack ads against Governor Tom Corbett and even his fellow Democrats for passing a bipartisan, comprehensive transportation funding plan that escaped the last administration. Tom Wolf even praised the plan the day before debuting an ad attacking it and lying about the effect it has had on gas prices. Unfortunately, we continue to see this kind of hypocritical rhetoric from millionaire Tom Wolf who wants to grow the size of government by raising taxes on job creators and middle class Pennsylvanians and won’t even address the tough issues, like the need for pension reform, facing our Commonwealth. Millionaire Secretary Tom Wolf has been bought out by the public sector union bosses and extreme liberal special interests, and just can’t be trusted to do what’s right for all Pennsylvanians.” -- Chris Pack, Communications Director

Burden of proof is on Wolf regarding Delaware loophole: Editorial
"Secretary Tom Wolf needs to stop hiding behind his fancy television ads and prove once and for all that he is not calling for higher taxes on middle class families and businesses when he goes out of his way – and out of the state – to pay less. Wolf insists that he’s not paying less than his fair share of corporate taxes, but he refuses to release his tax returns to prove otherwise. Nobody told Tom Wolf that he had to run for governor, but since he chose to do so after years of political calculation, he should expect to be held to a higher level of scrutiny and transparency." -Communications Director Chris Pack
Pennsylvania schools are desperate for pension relief: Editorial
“Governor Tom Corbett has repeatedly sounded the alarm on our state’s pension crisis that Secretary Tom Wolf has repeatedly refused to acknowledge. Meanwhile, Secretary Tom Wolf is turning a blind eye to the pension problem as he works to keep the special interest public sector union bosses financing his campaign happy. On the issue of pensions the voters have a clear choice - re–elect Governor Corbett and get someone who will fight for Pennsylvania taxpayers or support Secretary Wolf who will only fight for himself and his special interest financial backers.” -Communications Director Chris Pack
