What a shame how, even in the information-age when facts are more readily at everyone’s disposal than ever before, misinformation can still prevail when political motives trump fairness and accuracy. William Kashatus’ commentary (“Corbett’s wounds self-inflicted,” Oct. 8) not only misleads readers with numerous factual errors, but he also reveals a surprising lack of understanding regarding how economies work and the role Gov. Tom Corbett has played in job creation in Pennsylvania.

They said Gov. Chris Christie had come to bring the star power to Pennsylvania, to breathe fire into the struggling incumbent governor’s campaign there, and that he did today, commanding the stage on a bucolic Valley Forge Military Academy and College campus where he appeared this afternoon to stump for Republican Gov. Tom Corbett.

The Philadelphia Schools Partnership recently awarded a $147,000 grant to George Washington Carver High School of Engineering and Science in support of adding seventh and eighth grades. The grant would serve as a feeder for the magnet school with a focus on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
