The Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development has awarded the Borough of Manheim a $165,000 Keystone Communities grant to support downtown development through façade improvements.
The money also will help with operational expenses for Manheim’s Main Street program.
Manheim has partnered with Manheim Downtown Development Group to continue with downtown revitalization activities. Over the past three years, MDDG has created and sustained new programs for retaining and recruiting businesses while supporting community and beautification programs, including the Main Street program.
During that time, according to a news release, 35 businesses have started or expanded, creating jobs in the downtown.
