In recognition of National Manufacturing Day, this morning Department of Revenue Secretary Dan Meuser visited PGA Inc., a packaging and recycling manufacturer, to celebrate the company’s expansion and commitment to create 28 new jobs in Luzerne County.

Meuser’s visit today was part of a statewide effort to promote Pennsylvania manufacturing and highlight the Corbett administration’s initiatives to address or make progress in addressing all of the 15 recommendations of the Governor’s Manufacturing Advisory Council.

As part of this effort, Gov. Tom Corbett visited U.S. Steel earlier today to announce the company’s decision to expand in Pittsburgh, while Lt. Gov. Jim Cawley visited Mars Drinks in Chester County to for the grand opening of the company’s new global headquarters.

Meuser spoke today after touring the PGA facility in Freeland, where the company has undertaken an expansion project that included investments in infrastructure, site development, new equipment and employee training. In addition, the company will create 28 new jobs.

“We are pleased to be a part of Pennsylvania’s efforts to recognize National Manufacturing Day,” Paul Anthony Jr., PGA vice president, said. “As a small growing manufacturing business, we are pleased to be headquartered in Pennsylvania and providing our customers with quality service.”
