GOVERNOR TOM CORBETT & LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR JIM CAWLEY OFFICIALLY ACCEPT REPUBLICAN NOMINATIONS FOR RE-ELECTION
PITTSBURGH, PA –The Corbett-Cawley campaign tonight released the following statements from Governor Tom Corbett and Lieutenant Governor Jim Cawley as they officially accepted their respective Republican Party nominations for re-election. In accepting their nominations, Corbett and Cawley vowed to continue their “More Jobs, Less Taxes” agenda that has created over 150,000 new private sector jobs and led to Pennsylvania’s lowest unemployment rate since September 2008.
Governor Tom Corbett:
“I am proud to officially accept the Republican Party nomination for Governor of Pennsylvania and to bring four more years of our “More Jobs, Less Taxes” agenda to Harrisburg. Pennsylvania is in much better shape now than we were just four short years ago when we inherited a $4.2 billion deficit and an 8.2 percent unemployment rate. Our unemployment rate is now at its lowest level since September 2008 and we have eliminated our deficit, all without raising taxes -- just as we promised. While we have come a long way, there is still more work that needs to be done, and I am excited to team up with Lieutenant Governor Jim Cawley once again to continue delivering on our promise of more jobs and less taxes for four more years.”
Lieutenant Governor Jim Cawley
“I am deeply honored to accept the Republican Party’s nomination for Lieutenant Governor and I am even more honored to run on a ticket with my good friend, Governor Tom Corbett. This November will be a clear choice between the failed Democratic policies that left our state with sky-high unemployment and a $4.2 billion deficit, and the Republican policies that have lowered our unemployment rate to its lowest levels since September 2008 and have created 150,000 private sector jobs.
“While Tom Wolf may have been successful in spending $10 million dollars to buy the Democratic nomination for Governor, including millions from a massive personal loan for his made-for-TV campaign, there are many things that he conveniently left out. Luckily, the Corbett-Cawley campaign has taken detailed notes of Tom Wolf’s tax-and-spend policies, and we will waste no time pulling back the curtain and introducing Pennsylvanians, for the first time, to the real Tom Wolf. Once the true story of Tom Wolf is told, I have no doubt that Governor Corbett and I will be victorious in November.”
