A packaged food and beverage manufacturer is coming to Greater DuBois, bringing with it at least 100 new jobs.
Gov. Tom Corbett said Wednesday that WhiteWave Foods Co. will locate operations in Clearfield County.
“With each new job created, another family can work, live and thrive in Pennsylvania,” Corbett said. “My administration is proud to partner with WhiteWave Foods to create 100 new jobs in Clearfield County.”
WhiteWave Foods, a leading manufacturer of consumer packaged food and beverages, will locate operations in a 220,000-square-foot vacant facility in Sandy Township near DuBois. The project is expected to generate a capital investment in infrastructure improvement, equipment and employee training costs. The expansion is projected to create 100 new jobs and retain eight existing positions.
”At WhiteWave our goal is to change the way the world eats for the better, and we look forward to continuing to advance this purpose with our new operations in Clearfield County,” WhiteWave President Blaine McPeak said. “We’re grateful for the opportunity to grow our WhiteWave team in the area through our new production facility.”
“The establishment of WhiteWave Foods Company’s new production facility in Clearfield County is an outstanding development for our local area and will help to utilize a currently vacant facility while also creating 100 new jobs,” state Sen. Joe Scarnati, R-Brockway, said. “This expansion is an excellent example of successful collaboration between state government, local government and the manufacturing industry.
“Clearfield County is very excited to have a growing food industry leader like WhiteWave Foods bring their production facility to Sandy Township, Clearfield County,” Clearfield County Commissioner Mark McCracken said. “Merging WhiteWave’s quality products and industry leading production standards with Clearfield County’s highly motivated workforce will prove to be a winning combination for the regional economy.”
WhiteWave's common stock trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol WWAV. It closed at $28.33 per share Wednesday and has traded in a range from $15.61 to $30.46 per share over the last 12 months. It has a market capitalization of $4.65 billion.
