The Department of Community and Economic Development Secretary, C. Alan Walker, announced Wednesday a $2.8 million PennWorks grant to the Howe Township Municipal Authority for infrastructure improvements. In an effort to continue to advance Governor Tom Corbett's JOBS1st PA initiative, the award is expected to create at least 250 new jobs.

“Having up-to-date infrastructure systems and facilities is critical to attracting new investment and jobs and supporting the added needs of business expansion,” Walker said. “The Corbett administration is proud to partner with Howe Township to make the infrastructure improvements necessary to bring new job creating projects to the community.”

Part of the grant will used for waste water infrastructure improvements, sewer improvements, commercial and retail real estate development, as well as a new medical center.
