Ephrata Self-Service Laundry has received a $9,500 state grant to put toward energy-efficient equipment, it was announced Monday.
The Department of Environmental Protection said the local grant was among 134 Small Business Advantage Grants totaling $997,000 awarded statewide.
The program provides 50 percent matching grants of up to $9,500 for projects that will cut energy costs or pollution by at least 25 percent.
The Ephrata laundry, at 32 Washington Ave., will put the grant toward the $20,000 expense of replacing 30-year-old natural-gas powered dryers with new, high-efficiency units.
