Corbett-Cawley Campaign Announces "Veterans for Corbett-Cawley"

HARRISBURG - Governor Tom Corbett announced "Veterans for Corbett-Cawley" at VFW Post 6704 with Honorary Co-Chairs Rep. Ryan Aument and Dominic DiFrancesco . Led by Chairman and U.S. Congressman Scott Perry, Veterans for Corbett-Cawley will organize and activate members around the state in support of Governor Corbett's record of keeping his promises to fight for Pennsylvania's veterans and military communities.

As a veteran, Governor Corbett understands and has supported the mission, service and sacrifice of Pennsylvania’s active military and nearly 1 million veterans, including the more than 19,000 members of the Pennsylvania National Guard. Governor Corbett established the Military Community Protection Commission to proactively protect Pennsylvania’s military communities, created the Governor’s Advisory Council on Veterans’ Services to encourage information sharing and cooperation across government to enhance services, authorized the Veterans’ Trust Fund for support services and assistance, increased contracting opportunities for veteran-owned small businesses, and reformed the state’s Civil Service Commission to require the membership of a veteran to advocate for the community.

Governor Corbett and Lieutenant Governor Cawley continue to deliver on the “More Jobs, Less Taxes” agenda laid out in the 2010 campaign, keeping their promises to make government work harder and smarter for the people, reduce and eliminate taxes, balance our budgets on-time, hold the line on new taxes, empower the private sector to grow and create jobs by reopening Pennsylvania to business, responsibly use the once-in-a-generation opportunity our Commonwealth has in the Marcellus Shale to create and support jobs, reinvest in our communities and reduce energy costs, bolster support for our most vulnerable and invest historic amounts in basic education.
