Tom Picks up Pittsburgh Newspaper Endorsement

"And with the ghosts of present and future deficits shrieking in the hallways of Harrisburg, who are you going to call? Dan Onorato, who carries the same Democratic brand? Or Tom Corbett, the Republican, who offers the best chance of a fresh approach from top to bottom?

We think that question answers itself. Our choice is Tom Corbett."

Those are the words of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette who today endorsed Tom's candidacy for Governor.  The Post Gazette is the second major newspaper in Pittsburgh to endorse Tom over their County Executive Dan Onorato.  Dan likes to tout his record as Allegheny County Executive yet it is quite telling that both major newspapers in the region urge voters to choose Tom Corbett.  Both newspapers, who know Dan best, agree that electing Dan Onorato is akin to four more years of Ed Rendell and believe Tom's commitment to holding the line on taxes and reducing spending is exactly the direction the state must go in.  The Editorial Board also highlights Tom's work as Attorney General to end corruption and politics as usual in Harrisburg as proof positive that he can face the challenges that lie ahead.  

In other great news today the Muhlenberg daily tracking poll has Tom ahead by 9 points going into the last week of the campaign.  Pennsylvania voters won't be swayed by negative attacks from Dan Onorato, Tom's commitment to more jobs and less taxes resonates with what Pennsylvania families need.
