Governor Jeb Bush Endorses Tom's Education Plan

Yesterday during an event at Lincoln Marshall Charter School in York Jeb Bush, former Governor of Florida endorsed Tom Corbett's Education Policy.  Governor Bush is held as a national expert on education issues after having reformed the achievement levels of Florida schools during his administration. 

"Tom I love your plan for a bunch of reasons.   The most important one of which is that it's a comprehensive plan.  We need to have a sense of urgency about assuring that more children gain the power of knowledge.  It should be the objective of everybody in Pennsylvania, Florida and our country that every child irrespective of the color of their skin or their nationality or the level of income of their family gains a year's worth of knowledge in a year’s time. And that what we aspire to is increased to world class standards."

Prior to the endorsement, Tom and Jeb met with students, parents, teachers and administrators during a small roundtable discussion to express their hopes and concerns about education in Pennsylvania in the future.  A pillar of Tom's education plan is the ability for funding portability and education choice for parents, Lincoln Marshall Charter School serves as a stellar example of this concept at work.
