The Ed Rendell years were simply not good ones for Pennsylvania. Examples include:
• Spending has increased from $21 billion to $28 billion during his eight years in office.
• Unemployment in our region, which hovers near 10 percent, has not been higher since 1981.
• Rendell has proposed or raised more than 20 taxes on Pennsylvanians.
• “Pay to play” is a virtually established part of doing business and the Delaware River Port Authority is just one example. At the authority there are concerns of misappropriation of funds, no-bid contracts and nepotism.
• Pennsylvania ranks near the bottom among states in virtually every independent economic and job creation survey, including ranking 43rd in job growth and 48th in personal income growth.
