After seeing how ASK Foods, Inc. makes a few of its 400 all-natural deli salads, soups and other packaged foods, Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Corbett said part of his vision for Pennsylvania relies on helping companies like ASK Foods thrive.

Speaking to a handful of the 220 employees at the Palmyra-based company, Corbett said his economic strategy if elected would include reducing or phasing out several business taxes, including reducing the state's corporate net income tax from 9.9 percent to 6.9 percent.

"You are a prime example of a Pennsylvania success story," Corbett told employees.  "We want to see that you're able to continue here in Pennsylvania."

CEO Wendie DiMatteo said the 63-year-old company, which distributes its products to 25 states, is looking to expand its operations in the Palmyra/Hershey area.
