Current Attorney General and Gubernatorial Candidate Tom Corbett made a stop in Erie today, one day after announcing his bid to become governor.

Corbett toured Industrial Sales & Manufacturing in Millcreek before speaking before plant employees and management.

Corbett says, if he were to be elected, the current budget impasse of 11 weeks would not happen again. To prevent one, Corbett says he would begin the budget planning process several months early. He says he would also cut superfluous spending and stretch the budget cycle to two years, instead of yearly.

"We need to restore the people's trust and confidence in Harrisburg and from what I understand in discussions I've had with people from all across Pennsylvania, there's a total lack of trust in what's going on in Harrisburg -- not only with just the budget, but other issues in which we've been investigating," Corbett says.

Corbett, who will run on the Republican ticket, will face off against Congressman Jim Gerlach in the election next year.
