Today, NATIONAL DEFENSE PAC announced its endorsement of Tom Corbett for election to Governor of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. NATIONAL DEFENSE PAC Chairman, Rear Admiral [Ret.] James J. Carey stated, “Tom Corbett has NATIONAL DEFENSE PAC’s full support for election to Governor of Pennsylvania. He served our country in the Pennsylvania National Guard, putting himself on the line to defend our nation when called, and is committed to keeping the promises made to our veterans when they agreed to risk their lives to face America’s enemies. Tom is who we want in Pennsylvania making decisions that protect and serve the citizens of the state. He understands what it will take to address the economic challenges he will inherit. Tom Corbett is a selfless servant of the people of Pennsylvania and believes that the next Governor must care more about the future of the Commonwealth and its residents and less about furthering political ambitions or self-enrichment.”

Tom Corbett served his country as a member of the Pennsylvania National Guard 28th Infantry Division from 1971 until 1984, rising from private to captain. In 2008, Attorney General Tom Corbett was re-elected with more than three million votes, which is more votes than any Republican candidate in the history of Pennsylvania. As the next Governor of Pennsylvania, Tom Corbett will reduce the tax burden on Pennsylvania families, harness our energy potential, offer our children a world class education, and restart our economy, which will create family sustaining jobs. He will change the culture of Harrisburg. From eliminating WAMS and per diems to new budgeting practices and reducing the state vehicle fleet, Tom will provide open, transparent, accountable and trustworthy government.

Admiral Carey stated, “Pennsylvania is home to many military veterans and an equally significant number of men and women, both active duty, guard & reserve, serving in the military today. They need Tom’s leadership in Pennsylvania. NATIONAL DEFENSE PAC intends to do all it can to help make that happen”.

Colonel (Ret.) Craig Carlson, National Defense PAC Executive Director, stated, “NATIONAL DEFENSE PAC has earned a reputation for endorsing winning candidates because we back men and women that have proven integrity forged in patriotic selfless military service. The American people trust our military and vote for our candidates. Our goal in 2010 is to endorse as many candidates that can meet our standard, and elect them all.”
