HARRISBURG– The Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association (PPA) proudly announced its endorsement of Attorney General and Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Corbett for the November 2, 2010 General Election.

“The PPA, whose membership includes hundreds of small business owners, feels that as Governor, Tom Corbett will be the leader that Pennsylvanians need and pharmacists can support,” said PPA President, Mark Rabinowitz, R.Ph.  “Pennsylvania is experiencing difficult economic times and requires a leader that has the courage to make tough decisions while protecting the interests of its citizens, small business owners and trusted professionals, such as pharmacists.”

Rabinowitz added, “Throughout his career, Tom Corbett has continuously demonstrated that he has the executive experience, temperament, fairness, and a willingness to make decisions that will improve the future of Pennsylvania.”

The PPA represents approximately 1,800 pharmacists and pharmacy students across the Commonwealth, many of whom are small independent pharmacy owners.

“I am honored and humbled by the support of the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association,” Corbett stated.  “These medical and business professionals are essential to the public health of Pennsylvanians, our economy and our communities.  I believe we must reduce the tax burden on job creators, the backbone of our economy, in order to support our economic engine and make Pennsylvania competitive.”
