Harrisburg- The Pennsylvania Automotive Association (PAA) announced their endorsement of Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Corbett for the Primary Election.

The PAA Board of Directors voted unanimously to endorse Corbett’s candidacy. “It was quickly concluded that the challenges facing the Commonwealth demand that our next Governor brings executive experience, an appreciation of fairness, and a willingness to make tough decisions to the job,” said PAA Vice President Mark Stine. “Tom Corbett’s actions over the years have repeatedly demonstrated to us that he is that candidate.”

The PAA also noted in its endorsement that Corbett has a history of demonstrating respect for the importance of businesses to the economic and social well-being of Pennsylvania. The PAA specifically noted Tom Corbett’s unwavering support of consumer protection as well as his understanding of the needs of small business.

“I am honored and humbled by the support of the Pennsylvania Automotive Association,” Corbett stated. “The PAA’s dealer members are vital to the Commonwealth’s economy, and I believe we must reduce the tax burden on job creators in order to support our economic engine. A strong partnership between government and small business owners is vital to the economic growth and development of Pennsylvania.”

The PAA represents the approximately 1,100 new vehicle and heavy duty truck dealers doing business in the Commonwealth. The PAA’s dealer members represent the backbone of the Commonwealth’s small business owner; they are inherently and historically dedicated to customer and public service.

Because of Corbett’s pro-business record as Attorney General and policies and ideas for governor, he has also received the endorsements of the PEG PAC (Pennsylvania Business Council) and the Pennsylvania Restaurant Association.
