Exton – Republican Gubernatorial nominee Tom Corbett spoke about the importance of creating good paying, high skilled jobs that can support Pennsylvania families as he toured Bentley Systems in Exton.  With so many Pennsylvania businesses hit hard by the economy, Corbett says it is time to work with our job creators, not against them.

“It is time for businesses, like Bentley Systems, to have someone on their side in Harrisburg,” said Corbett, “For far too long, state government has been an adversary to job growth.”

Pennsylvania has one of the worst tax burdens for job creators in the nation. Corbett plans to change that by working with public and economic leaders to build bipartisan, strategic policies today that will secure our future for tomorrow.

“We are seeing too many of our young people leaving the state in search of jobs elsewhere,” said Corbett, “It is time to change that. It is time to use our vast resources and keep the next generation of workers here in the commonwealth. That is why I am running for governor, for our children and grandchildren.”

Corbett is keeping an open conversation with business leaders statewide about the issues most important to them. Whether it is the tax burdens they face or excessive government regulations, Corbett is listening.

“I believe it is time to restore the commonwealth’s rightful position in the global marketplace by partnering with business leaders to build job creation policies that will secure Pennsylvania’s future,” said Corbett.

As he toured Bentley Systems,  Corbett saw how the engineering software company is using innovation to create jobs in Pennsylvania.

“For Pennsylvania to compete at a world class level with regions like the Silicon Valley and Boston, we need to expand innovation to attract broad industry sectors and new jobs,” Corbett continued. “I am determined to be a partner with private industry and bring the leadership to Harrisburg necessary to accomplish these goals. We must be focused on creating jobs and welcoming employers to Pennsylvania, and as the next Governor, I will work to get the job done.”

Bentley Systems, a global company based in Exton, Pa is the largest engineering software company in the world. Founded in 1984, it employs more than 500 people at its Exton headquarters.  Bentley Systems develops software products and solutions that are used by engineers and contractors. Its software is used to build bridges, buildings, campuses, roads and many other types of infrastructure.
