Tom Visits Diamond Manufacturing Company

On Thursday afternoon I joined Tom in Wyoming, PA, to tour Diamond Manufacturing Company, North America's largest provider of perforated materials for products such as microwave ovens, speaker covers and computer server cabinets.

Tom tours the Diamond Manufacturing CompanyCEO Rusty Flack was a gracious host and worked exceptionally hard to keep Tom on schedule while still providing him with a comprehensive and engaging tour.  While their cutting edge technology was reason enough to be blown away – Tom was particularly impressed with their soundproofing work – what I found most striking was the fact that every employee I came across had a smile on their face.  No wonder they are such a success at what they do.

When our tour concluded promptly at 3:30 pm, Rusty quipped "How's that for efficiency, Mike?" and proceeded to give us a ride in their company golf cart to the Tool & Die facility, where Tom would deliver his remarks.

After a spirited welcome by Diamond Manufacturing President Hal Flack (Rusty’s brother) and introduction by Tammac Holdings Corporation Chairman & Founder Bob Tambur, Tom gave a rousing speech to the 120+ employees and local supporters in attendance.

Diamond Manufacturing CompanyThe biggest response Tom received was when he expressed the need for Pennsylvania to change its tax climate in order to become once again “open for business”, as many companies are being forced to relocate to economically attractive states, such as Tennessee.

"Now, I think the Steelers kicked Tennessee’s butt the other night," he said.  "I want to kick their butt when it comes to economic development."

I couldn’t agree more.

See you on the campaign trail,

Mike
